Andrew W. Gottschalk, M.D.

Dr. Gottschalk is the most accessible physician in Louisiana. He offers same day appointments and has both morning and evening hours. The state of the art facility offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic resources as well as state of the art physical therapy facilities.

Dr. Gottschalk is an expert in injection-based and minimally invasive interventions for common orthopedic and sports related injuries. Treatment goals in Dr. Gottschalk's clinic revolve around decreased pain, improved function, and avoidance of major surgery whenever possible.

Dr. Gottschalk is the only physician in New Orleans who offers groundbreaking stem cell injection therapies, platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP) amalgamation treatments, corticosteroid-based injections, viscosupplementation procedures, and minimally invasive Tenex procedures to improve pain and functionality outcomes.

BACKGROUND

Andrew W. Gottschalk, M.D. attended the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine before completing an internship and residency at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic.  He later returned to Cleveland to study and complete fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic with LeBron James' personal physicians and surgeons. His extensive experience includes treating athletes of all levels of competition, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NCAA Division I.

Dr Gottschalk has worked with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, and multiple universities. Currently, he is the Head Medical Team Physician for the New Orleans Pelicans and is involved in the care of athletes from the New Orleans Saints, most of the local colleges and universities, and over a dozen local high schools.

Dr. Gottschalk is currently the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine for the Ochsner Health System.  He is a member of the NBA's  Board of Athlete Health.
